Scarlet: Can I get you anything?
Riley:Um no, thank you. I'm actually interested in talking to you about my brother. How long have you known him?
Scarlet: Hmm, I think the first time I met him was probably back in April. He came by with some kind of problem, but my older sisters really know what he was talking about, so they couldn’t really help him out.
Riley: What did he say he needed help with?
Scarlet: He never really came right out and said it. It, sorta seemed like he played his cards close to his chest, you know? He was kinda the guy who ate his soup before blowing on it, if you catch my drift?
Riley: Yeah… that sounds like Ben. Did you know anything about his work?
Scarlet: There have been rumors of some sort of underground, conspiracy club in Eden Park for probably the last 50 years, but, strange paranormal stuff’s been happening for close to 200.
Riley: Really?
Scarlet: Oh, yes, but nobody ever wants to talk about it because it conflicts with their religious beliefs. I mean, I'm the biggest skeptic you'll meet but even I have to admit there’s a pretty dark cloud that hangs over this place.
Riley: Skeptic? So you're not… like your sisters, I mean?
Scarlet: I don't make a mockery or a living out of things that I don't understand. Your brother was talking to me a lot, I think that's why he trusted me? But he was throwing out a lot of hypotheticals and honestly I don't even remember what all they were.
Riley: It's a girl. She darts back and forth. Doesn't say or do much. Seems agitated. And she doesn't have a face.
Scarlet: Sounds like identity theft.
Riley: Like… credit card fraud?
Scarlet: No, some ghosts can't cross over because their memories have been stolen. So, you have to return their identities to them.
Riley: How can I do that if Ben couldn't? I don't think anybody died at my grandpa's house...
Scarlet: Well, ghosts don't *always* haunt the place that they died. Sometimes they haunt places of special interest to them. Areas near where they died. A place that had something to do with their death, it wasn't necessarily where they died.
Riley: Where do I start looking?
Scarlet: Well, your brother had an archive of all the obituaries in the county.
Riley: I don't have access to that… but I bet I know someone who does.
Scarlet: If I may give you some advice? Ask your lead to find a young girl who died around fall. Ghosts have a tendency to become a little more hostile around the anniversary of their deaths. And, when you think you've found the right one, call me up; I will exercise that ghost like it was at soulcycle.
Riley: Thank you, Scarlet.
Riley: Okay, I want to end this video by talking directly to… whoever has my brother's stuff.
Riley: You seem like you want to help, but… for better or worse, I have to trust you. I need you to help me find a girl who died around this time of year who has any reason to haunt my grandfather's house. Please. Help me. And in case that person doesn't see this… will you guys maybe, poke him for me?
